The riprap project is complete with sand and new baby beach grass plants. Much and many of which were removed a few days later by the first king tide of the winter season. At the moment, the only beach access is via the extension of Wakonda Beach road onto the sand, at the south end of our row of cabins/cottages/houses.
We thank you for choosing Wavecatcher as we continue to navigate the delicate balance between community safety and individual pleasure. We appreciate your loyalty, and respectfully request that you support the health of our coastal community by continuing to mask up when you leave the cottage. Clean, bagged cloth masks are provided in the event yours needs changing; just please add them to your laundry when you leave.
Even with vaccinations continuing apace, we will continue to maintain COVID cleaning protocols for the foreseeable future. The Newport aquarium (https://aquarium.org/) reopened quite awhile ago. And, given the uncertainties of the Covid delta variant, the best place to find out the current status of any local facility is probably the web.
COVID-current FAQs, guidelines (laundry, housekeeping), and what to do before you leave are detailed in the attachment posted below this update. Please read these through before your stay. And again, please please *please* wear a mask when you are out and about. You may be fully immunized yourself, but you can still spread this highly contagious, continually mutating virus in our community. Finally, if you are about to visit WaveCatcher and are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, we require that you cancel your visit. Don't worry -- you can reschedule at will as openings permit. If your new reservation shifts your stay from low to high season (or vice versa), we'll work with you to figure this out. Our goal is to help your rescheduling to be as easy and pleasant as possible. No red tape.
